The network security key is important because it protects your network from intruders. Each access point or router comes with a preset network security key that you can change on the settings page of the device. This is the password that you use to connect to a wireless network. If you are using Windows 8 or Windows 10, the process is a little different. Only use this procedure if you really need to. If you have selected Small icons (or Large icons) as the Control Panel view, all available items on the Control Panel are available.

On the Network and Internet window, click Network and Sharing Center.
